Rabbit out of the hat

Well I said that if there was a deal to be found I would find it. I believe the rabbit was pulled from the hat.We just happen to stumble onto a chevy 350 short block on ebay and we were the high bidder at an amazing 41.00 dollars.The really cool part was that it was only about 15 minutes up the road how cool is that? Now the question is where to go from here, it is an unmolested 1980 chevy 350. Oh the possabilities but the budget puts a damper on that.We still need to find a set of heads, lets see what kind of magic we can come up with next!

Major Bummer !!!!

Well we had our first bump in the road to recovery. We finally got it up and running it lasted two days and spun a bearing.But the real pisser is that it wasn't even a 350 like advertised or the original motor. It ends up that its only a 305 out of early 80's b-body.I know some people may cringe when i say a 305 is not worth rebuilding but it's time to look for a deal on a 350! like i said this needs to be done on a temporarily unemployed man's budget.But where there's a will there's a way.You can quote me on this i will pull a rabbit out of the hat.So if any one is looking for a paper weight we have one now.

The starting point lets make a deal!

This is what we are starting with. It is an 1987 chevrolet camaro with 48,000 miles. The car was someone's project and that someone apparently knew nothing about cars. I'm not saying that i'm an expert far from it, just your everyday backyard mechanic. Trial and error thats my motto. You maybe thinking it looks like junk but it is rust free and the interior is spotless not a easy thing to come by in the great lakes area. $800 dollars how can you go wrong (HA)!
